Great Idea! Keep your kids safe with a Child Locator!

Cild Locator
Well every now and again you stumble across a great idea and wonder why you never heard of it before!! I think this will be good for your family holidays.

Well my sister recently bought a “Mommy I’m Here” Child Locator as her little boy Henry was prone to wondering off. Well this little Gizmo in the shape of a Teddy Bear, gives off an alarm if he does wonder off. it’s all wireless and brilliant for large venues / crowdy places such as Shopping Centres, Sports days, Outdoor Events and such!

She got it from Amazon UK with Free delivery and I have already ordered 4 myself for Christmas Presents for friends with toddlers. it’s utterly brilliant – a bit steep in price but there are others to choose from I like these because they are not obviously an alarm and the kids think they are a present!

# AMAZON LINK: Blue Advanced Locator

It’ll help keep the Kids safe in crowded places and holidays. They come in Pink, Brown or Blue with different options.

Blue Flag Status for Skegness Beach

GOOD NEWS for SKEGNESS… Tourism groups in Skegness were given a huge boost earlier this week when the town’s beach was awarded Blue Flag status for the year – one of just four such sites in the county.

The internationally recognised accreditation is only awarded to beaches which offer great facilities and achieve the highest standard of cleanliness.

Skegness Butlins of Old

There is a lovely article published by the Yorkshire Post today about the nostalgic “Hi de hi” culture of the great British Seaside Holiday… in particular the article focuses on Butlins in Skegness.

Well worth a read I’d say…. it reminded me of a few things. Like when Butlins was for a while named “Funcoast World” !

A quick extract... and there’s a great B&W picture of the Butlins Restaurant…..

“On a bitterly cold Easter Saturday 75 years ago, in a former turnip field near Skegness, snow threatened to make a mockery of Billy Butlin’s dream. April 11, 1936, felt like midwinter when Amy Johnson, Hull’s legendary aviator, officially unveiled his concept of package holidays for the masses.

There were also teething problems. Not everything was ready for the first customers and tradesmen among them were invited to help out which made a bit of a mockery of the welcome – taken from A Midsummer Night’s Dream – neon lit and mounted above reception: Our true intent is All for your delight.

Butlin was offering a week’s holiday for a week’s wage. The package translated into three meals a day and free entertainment for 35 bob (£1.75). He saw himself giving people a brief escape from drab lives via collective fun. It was a “you will enjoy yourselves” philosophy…. “ read more on the Yorkshire Post site.
